Rules-based Commercial Programs

WaterStreet uses the term rules-based to distinguish the kinds of commercial programs for which its systems development policy administration processes can function. The desired level of automated underwriting performed by the system, often dictated by the underwriting guidelines, sales strategy and territorial concentrations of business – are subsidiary considerations of the larger programming necessary for an entire underwriting manual. These are largely accomplished with business rules, action items (intelligent workflow) and more specific edits targeting individual underwriting criteria. If a client’s business program can be defined thusly, WaterStreet believes the program is a candidate for development that will lead to greater efficiency, control and selectivity.
